HMV puts TXT solutions to work to run inventory

HMV UK said it will use TXT e-Solutions software for demand forecasting and replenishment capabilities as it seeks to reduce inventory and improve shelf space.

Once that is achieved, the TXT software will enable the retailer to interact with suppliers to ensure the right products are on the shelf at the right time, the company said.

HMV UK Finance Director Shaun Carney said, “TXT was able to demonstrate a deep level of expertise in managing entertainment products with very short life cycles. Their understanding of our business challenges was further reinforced by the fact that they are already working with two of our biggest suppliers in the music industry. I am confident the project will have many benefits for HMV UK including most significantly, reduced inventory and an increase in sell-through leading to a boost in profitability.”
