Swamped new Books Etc website closes for maintenance

Heavy demand has caused the revamped Books Etc website to close down for maintenance work but it is expected to return to business next week.

Books Etc e-commerce director and Legend Press Publisher Tom Chalmers said, “It’s a bit of a pain in the first week, but we are getting so much traffic we thought it would make sense.”

He told The Bookseller: “I guess we were quite conservative with what we expected, but we have been inundated since we launched. So we are just ramping up all the support side of the site -– we thought it would be best to do it now.”
