Virgin Media said revenue was up by 3.3% year-on-year to £980 million in the fourth quarter ending Dec. 31 with 63,600 new broadband subscribers attracted by high-speed internet connections.

The cable operator said it had a net gain of 28,600 households during the term to take its total number of subscribers to 4.77 million.

It said operating cash flow –equivalent to earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation – was up 15.3% year-on-year to £366 million.

Television subscriptions grew by 34,200 TV for a current total of 3.74 million with 112,700 more households using its enhanced V+ high-definition digital video recorder and 58% of its digital TV subscriber base using Video On Demand each month, the company said.
