Entertainment and software wholesaler Gem has rebranded Trilogy, which it acquired late last year after the physical distributor went into administration, as Gem Logistics, pledging to commit “significant investment to developing and growing the business”.

The acquisition included Northampton-based Trilogy’s warehouse and logistics operation, which Gem said it plans to establish as a major distribution system for DVD, music and videogame publishers in a “development plan that will see the business significantly increase both its scale and service offering”.

Gem Logistics General Manager Matthew Allen said Gem’s investment would see a dramatic development in “infrastructure, systems and services to better support our existing and future supply partners”.

Gem Managing Director Chris Peacock said, “The financial strength of Gem combined with the experience of Matthew and his management team provide a strong base from which we intend to develop compelling service propositions for a wide range of entertainment partners.”
